Three Vintage Folding Trays in 3 days.

Have you ever wondered about how things show up in groups. Or how you start to notice all the blue cars of a particular make and model once you buy one that’s the same.

Friday

I stopped in a Goodwill store on the way home and came across this cool vintage tray. It folds and has stamped designs of a fish, pineapple, wheat, grapes, a rooster and a peach on the tray. The gold colored Bakelite handle with the silver stars caught my eye. I picked up the tray and brought it home, intending to research it later.

Saturday

was a busy day with errands and several estate and yard sales to visit. At one of the last yard sales we visited we found this tray and kind of laughed about the coincidence of finding another vintage folding tray. I chatted with the ladies having the yard sale about how I had just found another folding tray the night before. We all thought the design was neat and a real space saver for storage and pictured this being used in a vintage RV trailer or picnic basket.

Sunday

we stopped in our local Goodwill store (yes we do frequent this store often) while out running errands. My husband came walking over to show me what he found and yes, you guessed it – another vintage folding tray!

What’s going on? Is everyone getting rid of their 1940’s era serving trays at the same time?  Is Mercury in retrograde (not sure what that is but it sounds funky) ? Or have we just not noticed these little trays before?

What do you think? Has this happened to you ? What kinds of things to you find in groups – I’d love to hear about it. Leave me a comment here or on my Facebook page.
