Flea Market Fun in Maine

We’ve begun selling our vintage goods at flea markets and recently we sold at Montsweag Flea Market in Woolwich, Maine which is just a bit north of Bath on Route 1.

During our most recent visit we set up very early ( 6:30 am!) and as usual many of the veteran vendors had already set up and were waiting to pounce on us as we unpacked the car. I really like the idea of selling and shopping at flea markets but, I HATE! getting up at the ass crack of dawn to do it! Oh well if I want to be a re-seller I better get used to it.

Monstweag Flea Market setting upThe part of the experience I really enjoy most is meeting the other folks who are selling and shopping at the flea market.

Recycling Retro boothOne of the permanent vendors at Montsweag is Katherine Missal. She has a great little shop there called Recycling Retro. Katherine is super fun to talk to and really knows her stuff when it comes to vintage and retro kitchen goods. Every time I’m at Montsweag I love to check out her displays…the colors are wonderful and she is a genius of utilizing a small space for the biggest impact! Her shop always makes me smile.

Thanks Jon we really enjoyed chatting with you!

Across from our table was another vendor, Angie and her son Max, who were selling some neat vintage things and toys. I bought two Emalox bowls from them and found out Angie has a restaurant in Bath, ME called The Starlight Cafe. I checked out their Facebook page and cant wait to stop in and eat there it looks yummy.

We also had a lot of fun with some shoppers who stopped and purchased one of our favorite items, a little vintage metal typewriter table with a cute little built-in gooseneck lamp.  I was so happy to see my favorite little vintage piece go to a good new home.
Thanks creative folks from Edgecomb!

I always wished there was a flea market that opened at 5PM- would make life so much easier

Maybe we could start one? A pop-up flea for night owls- sounds perfect
