New Thrifting Adventures

Hello Second Wind Cabin and Tour de Thrift fans – this is the first post from our new location!
The past few months have a been a whirl wind of activity as we packed up and moved from mid-coast Maine to Central Pennsylvania. We finally found a new house to rent and have begun to unpack and settle in.

One of the best ways to explore any new area is to check out the local flea markets and yard sales and that’s just what we’ve been doing.

A new favorite flea we discovered recently is the Williams Grove Flea Market. The market is held on sunday’s in a huge field next to the Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg, PA (directions and map coming soon)

There are 9 thrift stores in and around Harrisburg, PA and several across the river.
We visited a Salvation Army in Camp Hill and a Goodwill in Lemoyne, PA and found a few goodies, but pickins seem slim right now. I’ve really been missing the Goodwill stores in Maine recently, the stores here do not arrange their clothing by size, but rather by color. I’m sure some folks enjoy picking through rows and rows of clothing for the one item that is actually their size, but not me. So for now now more shopping for clothing.

The photo above was an experiment using a new iPhone App from A Beautiful Mess blog, the ladies who run this blog are incredibly talented and clever and have launched their first app which is easy and fun and cost 99 cents! If you like funky vintage and lifestyle blogs check them out.

A few of our finds so far in Central PA…

2chairsv2Great yard sale finds! We’ll be re-covering the seats of these chairs and cleaning them up, the turntable and AM/FM radio works! Really cute and runs on either batteries or by plug.

Hope to have both of our websites up and running smoothly again soon. Stop back soon or visit us on our other website Second Wind Cabin or follow us on Facebook.

More later….
