Vintage Shopping Trip in Lancaster, PA

Another chance to explore downtown Lancaster, PA

Home renovation projects are about to start up again, but Saturday was unexpectedly warm and we both had the day free of obligations – so it was a perfect day to go explore nearby Lancaster, PA.

A Saturday spent goofing off in Lancaster

We felt like kids playing hooky from school as we took a day away from home chores and projects. Every now and then you just have to go and spend the day goofing off – right?

Outdoor dining and large windows provide lots of people watching

Good Eats

Lancaster, PA has really come a long way. The downtown shopping district is easy to walk around, has affordable parking and a good variety of shops, restaurants and galleries to explore. We had lunch at the Prince Street Cafe, and were happy we did. They had a fun menu with nice vegetarian options – I recommend the rice bowl. I really enjoyed the open space, semi- industrial interior, flooded with natural light from the large windows and accented with lots of green plants.

Especially loved this vertical fern wall.

Fun Vintage Shops

Lucky for us The Prince Street Cafe is located below one of our favorite vintage shops in Lancaster. Redeux Vintage also has a shop with over 40 vendors in York,PA. Alex and Avery the husband and wife team, who run the show, really know how to style their shops. We’ll be featuring this creative duo in an upcoming “Meet the Shopkeeper” post soon.

More great natural light and lots of vintage goods to buy!

Indoor Flea and Storage Clear Out

Mark you calendars! Alex and Avery are having a mega storage unit clear-out event, Saturday April 6, 2019, 11:00am – 7:00pm. The sale will be held at the downtown York location, 113 S Duke St, York, PA 17401 on the second floor. Cash Only. I’m hoping to get there early and make a big pile!

A Stroll thru Space

We’ve written about this great little shop before and always stop in when we visit Lancaster. Jesse, the shop keeper is a great guy and really knows his stuff when it comes to vintage and mid-century modern. Space has moved to a larger shop, located at 24 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA. The layout is so cool – you just want to hang out on the awesome couches and chill while you shop the great selection of furniture and accessories.

Space is packed with affordable mid-century goods

Next time you want to spend a day goofing off head to downtown Lancaster, PA. It’s a great little city for walking, eating and shopping.
